These anxious days of the corona virus which victimizes every now and then have made the world realize that we are now a global family and a global village. Unlike the past, that communication was not like tody and it was possible to confine a disease to its neighborhood or city, a virus can quikcy sweep citites and countries due to the intertwined world of today. Although some people have failed the test of these days, many people around the world have become more sympathetic.
There have been numerous incidents in these calamitous days, one of which is the scarcity of disinfectants made of alcohol. The importance of alcohol in such situations that people of the world refuge to alcohol disinfectants to get rid of the danger of viruses, once again revealed that Zakaria Razi (the scientist of the third and early fourth centuries AH) has rendered what a great and unparalleled service to humanity, though it has later been improved by other scholars.
It seems appropriate to dedicate a borderless award in the name of “Zakaria Razi Award” in an attempt to both commemorate this great Eastern (Iranian) scientist once again and due to another occasion, and to appreciate the devotees and warriors of fightign corona arena. An award for women and men who sacrifice themselvees in this way in Iran and in the world, and cheerfully express their determination to defeat Corona. Because of grandeur of fighting corona, it seems quite possible to award this prize in its first phase even to several candidates. It may even include nurses and physicians who have lost their lives in fighting this invasive virus.
Here, I also recommend to my friends and colleagues on the board of directors of “the Association for Defending Prisoner’s Rights” to dedicate an award to the health care staff, nurses, physicians and even managers who work in prisons to defend health and lives of the prisoners. In this way, they are able to assist the prisoners not only with their legal protections and resorting to critical and apophatic ways, but also with cataphatic ways. This can be done by collecting reports from prisoners, their lawyers and their families about these staff’s endeavours in this way.
This is a general proposition, and the details, the formation of the jury and its executive mechanism, require collective reflection in civil society.
